Our Story

Five years ago, we chose the island of Gran Canaria for our winter vacation. We initially settled in the north, but the unpredictable weather quickly prompted us to move to the southern part of the island, where it is warmer and sunnier.

Perhaps you've experienced similar feelings about travel as we have. You arrive at a place that doesn't resonate with you, or it captivates you, but you say to yourself, "One visit is enough." And then there are those magical places where you want to return again and again. For us, that place is the island of Gran Canaria, specifically its southern part - the town of Puerto Rico with the beautiful Amadores Beach.

During the COVID pandemic, while lounging on the semi-empty Amadores Beach, we read an article mentioning that the renowned Nomad List had ranked the local metropolis, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, among the best nomadic cities in the world. At that moment, we began to imagine how wonderful it would be to spend an extended period there, combining work with leisure and exchanging a portion of the cold Prague winter for the warm sun rays of beloved Puerto Rico. The transition from imagination to reality was just a step away, given my profession as a mortgage specialist. The clear choice for us was to purchase our own apartment, with specific criteria that we didn't want to compromise on during the selection:

We attended several property viewings, but we never felt the proverbial "butterflies in the stomach." We would always have to make compromises or deal with extensive renovations, which we were not willing to undergo. Therefore, we decided not to rush the purchase and wait for an exceptional offer. At that moment, it happened! A new listing appeared, we scheduled a viewing, and promptly booked our flights. Finally, the feeling we had been waiting for arrived! Upon entering the apartment, we internally sensed that this was the right place for us. This is our second home!

As we have a fondness for the Czech Republic, where we have family, friends, work, and spend most of the year, we would like to offer our apartment for short or medium-term rentals. Our wish is for the V&V Amadores apartment to come to life throughout the year.
